June 2007
Scott booked Skywalker Ranch again to fill its huge sound stage/studio with an orchestra and choral group to produce the next installment of composer Mark Northcross' contemporary opera. The most
demanding and stimulating (it's all live, folks) sessions resulted in a massive new piece that will be debuted in New York in 2008.
Jack Nitzche Jr. stopped in at TikiTown for a two day interview regarding Scott's work and times with his father, the legendary Jack Nitzche. Jack Jr. spent the third day with Neil Young who is also recollecting his history for a book Jack Jr. is writing about his genius father.
Scott met up with Brian Wilson and Al Jardine for a fun filled day and evening at a winery in the South Bay. According to Scott it was one of the all-time greatest times he has had with Brian as Mr. Wilson was in full form and more fun than ever. Brian (introducing Scott as "Mr. Music" to each and everyone in sight) pitched a song idea to Scott to collaborate on. Brian's title is too good to give away - God only
knows if they will follow through with it - but they should. Only the brain of Brian could come up with this concept and Scott is the perfect choice as co-writer.
