January 2008 

The Mathews family dodged the Mill Valley rains and vacationed at their home in in the desert until it was time for The Modern Legion to settle in for another few weeks of recording at TikiTown. Huey Lewis (always a great sport) popped in for a most surprising guest spot and the legendary, the one, the only, Mr. Van Dyke Parks arranged and performed stellar accordion parts for a song. Huge thanks and gobs of cheese to them!

Mixing sessions were concluded by the end of the month and tearful goodbyes were said as the band boarded their Qantas bird home to begin building the the dynamic live shows that are set to begin in March.
